My name is David Hurley. I have played chess on and off since the age of eight. The first chess book I read was Gerald Abrahams, Chess, back in the mid-seventies.

I have recently read it through again as I remember being impressed by the style of the prose. In 2012 or so I took up chess again after quite a long gap and am currently creating chess opening repertoires for White (1.d4) and Black (1…d6).

I live in Hiroshima, Japan, and am part of a small but lively community of foreign and Japanese chess players. 🙂
